MORONI, COMOROS, Tuesday, 25th April 2023: The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC), H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam on Monday met with the President of the Union of the Comoros, H.E. Azali Assoumani in the capital Moroni, as part of his ongoing official visits to Member States, Founding States and potential members.
The Secretary-General briefed the President on the current status of OEC’s operations and strategic plan 2022-2029, as well as the preparations for OEC’s upcoming General Assembly to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 27th to 30th June 2023.
According to the Secretary-General: ” We discussed at length about the operationalization of our collective Organization and the implementation of the Common Programme of Member States, as well as the substantive items on the agenda of the Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in June 2023. I also had the immense pleasure of discussing with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Finance in order to coordinate our efforts in building a third way of development – humanist, equitable and united – from the South, for Humnity.”
On his part, President Assoumani welcomed the Secretary-General’s updates and committed his country’s full support of the OEC and the implementation of the collective work programme.
