OEC Secretary-General-elect to conduct official visit to Comoros

Constitutive Charter of the Organisation

The Secretary-General-elect of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC), H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, will conduct an official visit to the Union of Comoros, on 1-5 December 2020 at the invitation of the country’s President, H.E. Azali Assoumani.

This is the first official visit abroad undertaken by the Secretary-General-elect to an OEC Founding State following the signing of the agreement on the provisional headquarters of the OEC on 03 November with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Djibouti – the OEC Constitutive Charter’s depositary.

During the visit, OEC’s Secretary-General is due to meet with the President of Comoros, Government Ministers and other high-ranking officials.

The objective of the visit is to broaden the prospects and scope for multifaceted cooperation between OEC and Comoros in areas of common interest in the field of education, innovation and development.

The visit likewise serves as a timely opportunity for OEC to engage in a constructive dialogue with Comoros on how to best assist and support the country in the realisation of the commitments contained within the Universal Declaration of Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE) and mitigating the adverse impact of Covid-19 on education.
