Palestine ratifies OEC Constitutive Charter

The State of Palestine becomes the latest country to ratify the Constitutive Charter of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC) following the signing of the instrument of acceptance, on 05 November, of the said Charter by the Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, H.E. Riyad al-Maliki.

The OEC Secretary-General-elect, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, commended Palestine’s commitment to the Universal Declaration of the Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE) and the principles and values of the OEC.

The Secretary-General-elect reiterated the Organisation’s readiness to support and assist Palestine in achieving the commitments contained in the UBDIE in order to contribute to the realisation of the country’s aspirations for equitable sustainable development.

The OEC was founded on 29 January 2020 by countries from across the Global South as an instrument of intellectual, technical and financial cooperation and solidarity between its Member States as well as its Associate Members.
