The National Assembly of the Republic of Djibouti has ratified the Constitutive Charter of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC) after the Council of Ministers approved, on 24 June, a draft ratification bill introduced by the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training.
The Secretary-General-elect of the OEC, H.E. Manssour Bin Mussallam, welcomed the ratification of the Constitutive Charter of the OEC by Djibouti and the country’s commitment to the values and objectives of the Organisation. He also reiterated the Organisation’s appreciation of the efficient mechanisms for the receipt of ratifications placed at the disposal of all Founding States by the Djiboutian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in its capacity as depositary of the Constitutive Charter.
The OEC was founded on 29 January 2020 by Latin American, African, Asian, Arab and Pacific Island countries at the International Summit on Balanced and Inclusive Education, as an instrument of intellectual, technical and financial cooperation and solidarity between its Member States as well as its Associate Members.
